The Sire is a black lace metallic steel blue CTPK and was a gift of Markus Bache from Germany. The Sire has a very strong body and balanced appearance with a great character. The reduction in webbing still needs a lot of improvement but one of his brothers became 1st placed at the IBC show in Friedrichshafen. The Dame is borrowed from Michel Stokkelaar (Nightshift) who imported her as a copper CTPK. Personally I suspect the is longfinned but hopefully she is carrying the shortfin trait. The shows a great reduction in webbing in all unpaired fins and hopefully this will compensate the minor reductions in the Sire. 
This cross was made to further experiment with CTPKs. With this cross I hope to fix the strong bodies and improve the reduction in webbing. The offspring (F1) will most likely will be metallic steel blue or copper with a black lace underlayer and traces of red. They will be either long- or shortfinned with a varying reduction in webbing in the unpaired fins.

29/04/12: The pair spawned!

30/04/12: The fry hatched.
01/05/12: The fry entered the free-swimming stage. Removed the male.
02/06/12: The fry is now 5 weeks old and feeding well on BBS and tubifex.

29/06/12: The fry is now 9 weeks old and shows some very promising reductions in webbing.

14/07/12: The fry is now 11 weeks old.

23/07/12: Overview of the grow-out at 12 weeks of age.

04/08/12: 14 weeks old! Exciting times ahead............will there be any shortfinned males?

05/09/12: 19 weeks old! Jarred the first males.

13/09/12: 20 weeks old! The first three pictures are from newly jarred fish. The fourth picture is an update of the the second fish of my previous update which turned out to be longfinned. 

06/10/12: One CTPK male was send to the 2nd Betta Freaks Show in Dortmund, Germany and again won a prize:
- 1st Form & Variation CTPK male class - All colors

11/10/12: Some promising CTPK males from this spawn, now 23 weeks old.

25/10/12: Black copper CT male, now 26 weeks old! Too bad he is slightly spoonheaded.
