The Sire is great colored metallic royal blue mask HM PK (Blbl +nms or Blbl ++) with a strong body and nicely parallel anal. The female is a F2 metallic royal blue (Blbl +nms or Blbl ++) from one of my toplines. With this cross I hope to get balanced offspring with a strong body and parallel anal.
The offspring (F1) will be short-finned and there is a good chance of HM PKs. I'm quite sure both parents are carrying metallic, but don't know if they are hetero- or homozygotic metallics.

27/09/06: The pair spawned succesfully!
28/09/06: The eggs hatched, there are about 10-15 fry hanging in the bubblenest.
30/09/06: Fry in free-swimming stage. Removed the Sire.
0210/06: The fry is feeding well on microworms and artemia.
31/10/06: Placed fry into a bigger grow-out.
08/11/06: The fry is now feeding well on tubifex and artemia. The first color starts to appear, seems like most of them are blues. The swimbladders are now stretching towards the caudal which makes it a bit hard to swim straight for some youngsters but it seems they will overcome this problem. Made some pictures of the 6 week old fry:

03/12/06: Jarred and made some pictures of the first 3 males from this spawn. Also made a picture of a nice female.

17/12/06: Small update on the fish of this now 11 weeks old.

06/01/07: The fry is now 13,5 week old and some of them are showing a nice potential. There are af few with nice full bodies and good finnage. I really like their appearance:
