The Sire is a black/orange VT male with some iridescence on the body. He has a nice VT form although I would like to see slightly fuller ventrals. The female is a full sibling to the male.
With this cross I hope to fix the strong bodies, smooth topline and the finnage. The offspring (F2) likely will be darkbody (with maybe some iridescence) with either red, orange or yellow finnage with a chance of dalmatian spots to appear.

27/02/16: The pair spawned smoothly.
28/02/16: The fry hatched, seems to be a small spawn.
01/03/16: The fry entered the free-swimming stage. Removed the male.
03/03/16: The fry is feeding well on vinegar eels and BBS.
11/03/16: The is now 2 weeks old.
28/03/16: 4 weeks old.

04/05/16: The fry is now 10 weeks old and developing fast. The males already start to actively flare and take small nips from eachothers finnage.

19/06/16: The fry is now 16 weeks old.

08/08/16: 23 weeks old.

25/08/16: One male from this spawn was send to the Holland Betta Show 2016 in Arcen, the Netherlands. He won some big prizes!!
