The Sire is a royal blue (blonde) HMPK. He has a nice strong body. The caudal has a nice D-shape with long outer rays. The anal has a good trapezoid shape with a nice gradual slope. The dorsal is uniform rounded and ideally could have a bit more volume with a broader base. The ventrals have a nice length, volume and single tips. The Dame is steel blue HMPK with a nice long body with a smooth topline. She is a full sister of the male. She has a pretty good D-shaped caudal fin, a broad-based dorsal and parallel anal fin. With this cross I hope to fix the strong bodies, smooth topline and balanced finnage. The offspring (F3) likely will be darkbody steel and royal blues with a chance of blondes to pop up.

This spawn is special because it is the 200th spawn in my Betta Territory!

27/02/16: The pair spawned smoothly.
28/02/16: The fry hatched, seems to be a spawn of 50+ fry.
01/03/16: The fry entered the free-swimming stage. Removed the male.
03/03/16: The fry is feeding well on vinegar eels and BBS.
11/03/16: The fry is now 2 weeks old. Looks like there are some blond fry again.
04/05/16: The fry is now 10 weeks old and developing nicely. I had to cull a few rosetails.

19/06/16: The fry is now 16 weeks old. Jarred the first males last week.

14/08/16: 24 weeks old! Very happy with the quality in this spawn!

06/10/16: Steel blue blond HMPK siblins, 32 weeks old!
