The Sire is a cambodian-based HMPK with a nice intense red color and minimal iridescence. Ideally the mouth-to-dorsal topline could be a bit smoother. The caudal has a nice D-shape, the front rays of the dorsal are nicely directed forward and the anal is nicely trapezoid-shaped. The ventrals have a volume and shape with nice single tips. The Dame is a cambodian-based red HMPK  female with a pretty good red coverage on the body and minimal traces of iridescence. Ideally the base of the dorsal fin could be a bit broader.
With this cross I hope to fix the intense red color, the strong bodies, smooth topline and balanced finnage. The offspring (F1) will be cambodian-based red HMPK.

26/04/20: The pair spawned.
27/04/20: The fry hatched, the male has hidden the nest between the leaves so diffiult to see how many fry there are.
29/04/20: The fry (20-30) entered the free-swimming stage and the Sire was removed.
11/05/20: The fry is now 2 weeks old feeding well on newly hatched BBS and developing nicely!! Absolutely love the detail on these two pictures!

24/05/20: At 4 weeks of age, there already is some red colordevelopment in the finnage! Although there are some size-differences among the fry, the swimbladders have stretched nicely in the majority of the fry.

31/05/20: At 5 weeks of age, most of the fry have developed red color in the finnage. Some fry already start to show some red on the body.

14/06/20: At 7 weeks of age the fry are coloring up nicely!

05/07/20: 10 weeks old and developing nicely! The red color is getting more intense and the first males clearly start to show themselves.

23/07/20: Two newly jarred red HMPK males at 12 weeks of age.

03/08/20: Love the appearance of this young red HMPK male!

08/10/20: Red HMPK pair at 24 weeks of age!

25/10/20: Red HMPK brothers at 26 weeks of age!
