This pair could produce some nice offspring (F2) with some great finnage because of fantastic ray-splitting of both sire and dame.  Probably some will show rosetail features. Both fish are from one of my best spawns uptill now.
I never did a platinum white x platinum white cross before but I expect only platinum white offspring. There is a chance some DTs will pop-up.

22/01/05: Pair spawned! There a not much eggs in the nest because the male already chased the female away before she released all her eggs (probably inexperience).
23/01/05: Eggs hatched, it looks like the male is taking care well.
26/01/05: Youngsters in free-swimming stage, removed male removed. Looks like it is a small spawn (~10 youngsters).
01/02/05: Youngsters are feeding on artemia and growing very well. The youngsters seem to be all non-pigmented (platinums?)

13/02/05: Fry are now 3 weeks old and doing fine. It seems that there are some DTs present (see the fish in the back on the 2nd picture).

16/02/05: Succeeded to make a (bit blurry) picture of one of the DTs from this spawn. It seems that the lobes are pretty even distributed. I'm very curious to see how this will develop when this fish becomes older.
On the other picture you can already clearly see the metallic sheen on the body of the youngsters.

09/03/05: The fry is now 6,5 week old and developing really nice!

13/03/05: Made another pictures of the fry (now 7 weeks old). Some of the platinum whites are showing some degree of red wash in their finnage, while others have a slight blueish sheen.

17/03/05: It seems that there are two different colors in this spawn, some are platinum whites with a blue shine while others are platinum golds. Some show some degree of red wash.
I seperated two males because, despite there relatively still small size, they started to show agressive behavior in the grow-out tank towards the other fish. One is a ST male with some red wash and the other one is a DT male with really nicely distributed lobes.
19/03/05: Made some picture of the two jarred males:

27/03/05: Jarred some more males. The DT from the earlier pictures is developing really nice! The taillobes are allmost symmetric (left picture) and his dorsal finnage is awsome (right picture). The other males still have some more development to do but have potential. It appears there is only 1 female in this small spawn....

03/04/05: I made some new pictures of the males. They are now 10 weeks old. Some are already really far in the development while others still need a lot more.

10/04/05: I made a new picture of the biggest DTHM male (left picture) and of one of his smaller HM brothers (right picture). I personally think the latter has great potential because of his balanced finnage, but he still has to develop and grow a bit more.....
