The Sire is a non-metallic melano steel blue HM PK. He is has a very good overall balance, strong body and impressive broad dorsal. The anal is pretty parallel to the body and and the ventrals have a good full volume. The Dame is a compact balanced black lace steel blue HM PK and a sister to the Sire. There is a good chance she is also carrying melano black. The goal of this cross is obvious to breed blacks.
The offspring (F1) will be HM PK. The color of the fry will be steel blue based possibly in combination with black melano or black lace. Considering the background of both fish, there is a chance some fish will be marbles.

21/03/10: The pair spawned!
22/03/10: The fry hatched.
23/03/10: Fry in the free-swimming stage. Seems like small spawn. The Sire was removed.
02/04/10: The fry is now 1.5 weeks old and feeding well on artemia/BBS. There are ~10 fry.
03/04/10: Managed to make a pictrure of two 2 week old fry:

01/05/10: The remaining 8 fry are now 6 weeks old and have been moved to a bigger grow-out tank. They are feeding well on chopped tubifex, red mosquito larvae and BBS/artemia. I have already spotted several fry with nice broad dorsals.

13/06/10: The fry is now 12 weeks old and there are 6 fry left. I have jarred the first promising young male:
