The Sire is very vital copper/gold HM PK from the F2 generation of my showwinning PK line. This male has a very good oHM caudal spread with 8-ray branching, a full dorsal and full ventrals. The body shape needs some improvement. The Dame is a copper/gold female and was selected for this male because of her strong and full body. The Dame is also carrier of black genes. Interesting fact is that the mother of the Dame is the grandmother of the Sire (this makes the Dame a halfsister to the parents of the sire).
The offspring (F1) will be short-finned and there is a chance some HM PKs will pop-up. The color of the fry will mainly be copper/gold with some chance of platinum whites. Theoretically, 25% of the offspring can be carrier of black genes. Maybe some degree of marbling will appear as they get older. There also is a chance some DTs pop-up.

21/01/06: Pair spawned.
22/01/06: The eggs hatched. The Sire doing an excellent job!
24/01/06: Fry in free-swimming stage. Removed the sire.
25/01/06: Tried to make a picture of the 4 day old fry:

12/02/06: The fry is now 3 weeks old and growing well on artemia and microworms. There are both light- and darkbodied fry in this spawn and several DTs are spotted.

21/02/06: The fry is now 5 weeks old and the biggest fry now start to show some copper/gold coloration on their body.

25/02/06: Moved all the fry to a bigger grow-out tank.
24/03/06: The fry is now 9 weeks old and growing well. Most of the fish are copper/golds with some platinum whites and marbles popping up. Some youngsters clearly show a black underlying layer. Jarred the first male.

05/04/06: Jarred another another promising young male (see left picture below). The ray splitting and spread starts to develop nicely but the edges are still a bit too round. This still needs some work.
11/04/06: Jarred some more males. Small update on the male I jarred last week (see right picture below).

20/04/06: Update on two jarred males now 12 weeks old:

10/05/06: Small update on the males from above:

14/06/06: I kep one copper female from this spawn as a possible breeder for the future. She shows a nice full dorsal with a broad base. The caudal is developing to 4-ray with nice straight rays. There is a possibility she carries black.

17/07/06: 5 fish of this spawn were send to the 3rd GBC show in Cologne, Germany:
