The Sire is a strong-bodied steel blue HMPK with a very nice balance and form! He has a nice big caudal fin (corners could be a bit sharper) and a dorsal which is directed forward. He was a kind gift of my friend Sabrina Elderhorst. He is the results from a cross between an imported copper/yellow HMPK male and a black lace female which Sabrina bred from which goes back to my own steel blue line. The dame is a steel blue HMPK with a good bodyshape, a smooth mouth-to-dorsal topline with nicely balanced finnage.
With this cross I hope to fix the strong bodies, the smooth topline and the balanced finnage.
The offspring (F1) likely will be steel blue based HMPK with a chance of black lace, red wash and marble to pop up.

The Dame is also mother of: BT270819C, BT161119B and BT110120A.

20/05/19: The pair spawned.
21/05/19: The fry hatched, looks like a big spawn!
23/05/19: Removed the Sire.

12/08/19: 12 weeks old. The fry have been developing a bit slower than normal as they were fed than normal during my holidays. As expected there is a quite wide variety of colors varying from solid steel blue, black lace, to fish with a lot of red. Several fish also have started to marble.

20/08/19: 13 weeks old. The fry have picked up their growth again after some good feeding.
