The Sire is a platinum red BF HM PK with a strong thick body. The finnage is nicely balanced with a strong caudal, pretty parallel anal and an impressive broad-based dorsal. The mouth-to-dorsal topline is a bit irregular and ideally could be smoother. The Dame is a heterozygous royal blue F1 from my own line with nice balanced finnage. Her caudal nicely spread 180 degrees, the anal is nicely parallel and the dorsal is also broad-based.
The offspring (F1) will be HM PK. Because of the broad-dorsals of both parents, there is a chance of DTPKs to pop-up. The offspring probably will be either heterozygous or homozygous metallic but further the color will be a big surprise!

20/02/09: The pair spawned!
21/02/09: The fry hatched.
23/02/09: Fry in the free-swimming stage. The Sire was removed.
24/12/08: The fry is feeding well on BBS.
13/03/09: The fry is now 3 weeks old. I spotted several DTs in the spawn and to my surprise the whole spawn is lightbodied.......

12/04/09: The fry is now is 7,5 week old and was transferred to a bigger grow-out. The fry shows a very light blue color with nice broad dorsals.

06/05/09: The youngsters are now 10 weeks old and show a pale blue color which reminds me a bit of the influence of the blonde gene but it might be the underlying opaque factor too. Here a picture of a DT male which I jarred this week. Although his caudal lobes are unequally distributed I do like his strong body and peduncle and parallel anal finnage. These characteristics seem to be present in the rest of the youngster of this spawn too and I am very curious to see what this will bring.

10/05/09: Made some pictures of two promising newly jarred young HM PK males:

15/08/09: Made some new pictures of males from this spawn now 25 weeks old. Their color is royal blue based but seem to have a more faded royal blue color. Could this be the influence of the opaque or blonde gene?

05/10/09: One male of this spawn were send to the 13th EHBBC show in Duisburg, Germany and won a price:
2nd place Form and Finnage class

06/10/09: Here an update on a potential breeder female now 33 weeks old.
