The Sire is steel blue melano black HMPK with a strong body. Formwise there still is some work as the finnage is quite heavy: The caudal shows a good D-shaped form but the branching is a bit extensive; The dorsal has a nice broad base but the front rays ideally could be shorter; The slope of the anal fin could be more gradual towards the back and the ventral tips ideally should be without any splits. The Dame is a strongbodied steel blue HMPK female with a smooth topline and balanced finnage. Although caudal could be slightly better (outer rays should be longer), the dorsal has a nice broad base with an anal fin which is nicely parallel to the body. The Dame is a half-sister to the Sire.
With this cross I hope to fix the strong bodies, smooth topline and balanced finnage. The offspring (F1) likely will be either steel blue, melano black and/or black lace HMPK. There is a chance of marble to pop up.

19/01/18: The pair spawned.
20/01/18: The fry hatched.
23/01/18: The fry entered the free-swimming stage. Removed the male.
27/01/18: The fry is feeding well on vinegar eels and BBS.
17/04/18: 13 weeks old. Most fry are steel blue-based. Some seem to become black! There are also several DTPKs in the spawn.
