The Sire is strong bodied metallic blue/red HMPK. The finnage is nicely balanced with a D-shaped caudal fin and good shaped dorsal and anal fins. The ventrals have a good length and volume with single tips. The Dame is a metallic blue/red HMPK with a nice torpedo shaped body, smooth topline and balanced finnage. She has a nice broad-based doral fin, good caudal spread and nice shaped anal fin. The dame is a sibling to the male and I suspect that both fish are carrying the opaque factor.
With this cross I hope to fix the strong bodies, smooth topline and balanced finnage. The offspring (F2) will be (metallic) blue/red HMPKs of which some might have an opaque influence.

18/03/14: The pair spawned. Eggs in the nest.
19/03/14: The fry hatched.
21/03/14: The fry entered the free-swimming stage. Removed the male.
13/05/14: 8 weeks old.

30/05/14: 11 weeks old.

12/09/14: Two males, 25 weeks old. The fish on the right shows a clear opaque influence which also partly covers the eyes.

10/10/14: A promising pair now 30 weeks old.

29/03/15: One female from this spawn was send to the European IBC convention in Friedrichshafen and became 3rd Show Plakat Female!
