The Sire is a metallic blue HMPK bred by Markus Bache from Germany. The Sire has a very strong body and balanced appearance, a nice D-shaped caudal fin, a broad-based dorsal (13-ray) and a nicely parallel anal fin. The weak point of this fish is his topline which needs a lot of improvement. The Dame is metallic blue HM PK with a strong body and a nice thick peduncle. Her caudal has a good shape and spread, the anal is nicely parallel and the dorsal has a good broad base (12-ray). Her smooth topline nicely compensates for that of the male.
With this cross I hope to fix the strong bodies, broad dorsals and quality finnage in my iridescent HM PK line. The offspring (F2) will be metallic blue HM PKs which a chance of black lace based iridescent fish popping up. Based on the width of the dorsal fins, there is a chance of DTs popping up.

The Dame is also mother of: BT060811

20/12/11: The fry is now 9 weeks old. The fry shows a clear metallic influence and some have started to marble.

30/12/11: 10 weeks old.

11/01/12: Last week I jared the first four males from this spawn, now 12 weeks old. Some of the fry seem to have inherited, besides a metallic effect, a "dragon" influence from the male. Some fish do show a slight tendency to a "spoonhead" but it already is a bit step forward in comparison to their father.
