The Sire is a strong-bodied (metallic?) blue/red grizzle HMPK with a nice mouth-to-dorsal topline. He has a volumineus dorsal fin of with the first rays are nicely directed forward. Good D-shaped caudal fin with pretty sharp corners. The Dame is long-bodied HMPK with a smooth mouth-to-dorsal topline, broad dorsal fin, D-shaped caudal and a nicely parallel anal fin.  
With this cross I hope to fix the strong bodies, smooth topline, balanced finnage. The offspring (F1) will be both dark- and lightbodied HMPK with a varying degree of red wash.

The Sire is also Father of: BT040413. 

17/03/13: The pair spawned.
18/03/13: The fry hatched. The sire is taking an excellent job! Looks like there are >50 fry.

19/03/13: The fry entered the free-swimming stage. Removed the male.

20/03/13: The fry is feeding well on vinegar eels and BBS.
28/04/13: The fry is now 6 weeks old and feeding well on BBS and tubifex.
14/06/13: The fry is 13 weeks old and developing nicely. There are quite some marbles. Culled a few rosetails.

05/08/13: Four recently jarred males, now 18 weeks old.

05/08/13: 20 weeks old.

13/09/13: Two more males, now 26 weeks old.

01/10/13: Nice female, 28 weeks old.

07/10/13: Two males and 1 female of this spawn were send to the 4th Betta Freaks Show in Dortmund, Germany. The two males won prices:

- 5th M2 Asymmetrical HMPK male class - Marble
