The Sire is a royal blue HMPK with a nice long bodyshape and good topline. The caudal has a nice D-shape with long outer rays. The anal has a good trapezoid shape with a gradual slope. The dorsal is uniform rounded and ideally could have a bit more volume with a broader base. The ventrals have a nice length, volume and single tips. The Dame has a nice long body with a smooth topline and very nice balanced finnage (nice D-shaped caudal fin, broad-based dorsal and parallel anal fin).
With this cross I hope to fix the strong bodies, smooth topline and balanced finnage. The offspring (F1) likely will be darkbody (metallic) iridescent with a chance of blondes and marbles to pop up.

14/06/15: The pair spawned. Eggs in the nest. Sire is taking good care!
15/06/15: The fry hatched, looks like a small spawn.
16/06/15: The fry entered the free-swimming stage. Removed the male.
23/08/15: The fry are now 10 weeks old and developing nicely. Spotted some nice iridescent colors and broad dorsals. This spawn also gave me some rosetail fry (lower right picture).

02/10/15: The fry is now 16 weeks old.

26/01/16: Potential breeders, now 32 weeks old.
