The Sire is a gold HMPK with a pretty good overall balance and finnage (nice D-shaped caudal fin, good shaped dorsal with nice long rays at the front, nice ventrals). The body ideally could be a bit stronger and the form of the anal fin could be better. The Dame was a generous gift from Khai (Thank you my friend!). The Dame is longfinned but carrying the shortfinned trait as her father was a DTPK. Although her form and finnage is not that special, she should carry some good form characteristics considering her background. This female is really special to me as she has an unique intense gold color which is characteristic for this line and among the best I have seen so far. Here a better picture of the mother of the Dame, in order to illustrate how intense the color really is from this side of the pedigree.

The gold color of the Sire is less intense then that of the female. With this cross I hope to get some fish, preferably shortfinned, showing this intense gold color in order to work further with. The offspring (F1) will be gold and can be either long- or shortfinned with a chance of HM finnage to pop-up. Some fish will have broader dorsals due to the DT influence from the Dame.

09/11/13: The pair spawned. Eggs in the nest.
10/11/13: The fry hatched. Seems to be a descent number of fry.

13/11/13: The fry entered the free-swimming stage. Removed the male.
14/11/13: The fry is feeding well on vinegar eels and BBS.
06/12/13: The fry is now 4 weeks old and feeding on BBS (left picture below).

14/12/13: 5 weeks old (right picture above).
21/12/13: The fry is now 7 weeks old and a yellow/gold metallic shine is starting to develop.

21/12/13: 9 weeks old! See some nice broad dorsals.

21/12/13: 11 weeks old.

25/12/13: Two more pictures.

14/02/14: 14 weeks old and developing nicely. Spotted some longfinned fish as well.

16/03/14: 18 weeks old. Two pictures of the same male, pfffff..........what are these fish difficult to photograph in order to capture their real color. The fish on the pictures on the upper row and lower left pictures are the same fish but with different use of light/flash.

23/04/14: Most of the shorftinned fish in this spawn are so-called "transitional PKs", fish of which the shape lies-in-between traditional and halfmoon plakats."transitional fishwo of my favorite 24 weeks old.

30/06/14: Two fish of this spawn were send to the 6th Betta Freaks Show in Schwalmtal, Germany. One of them won a prize (see left picture below):

05/07/14: 34 weeks old! Made a picture of a potential breeder female (right picture below):
