The Sire is a strongbodied cambodian-based red HMPK. He has a smooth topline and balanced appearance. The caudal fin has a >180 degree spread, nice shaped dorsal (base could be a bit broader). He has a nice parallel anal fin and matching ventrals. The Dame is darkbodied red HMPK with a nice strong body The finnage is nicely balanced. The caudal fin is not 180 degrees but the outer rays are nicely straight. The dorsal fin is broad based but the front rays ideally could be a bit longer. The Dame is a half-sister to the male.
With this cross I hope to fix the strong bodies, smooth topline and balanced finnage. The offspring (F1) will be both dark- as lightbodied red HMPKs.

09/05/14: The pair spawned. Eggs in the nest.
10/05/14: The fry hatched. Seems to be a veru big spawn.
12/05/14: The fry entered the free-swimming stage. Removed the male.
15/05/14: The fry is feeding well on vinegar eels and BBS. Looks like a big spawn!

12/06/14: The fry is now 5 weeks old. Spoted some nice broad dorsals.

04/07/14: Light- and darkbody red fry now 8 weeks old.

13/07/14: Because of the large numbers, the fry has been divided over two grow-out tanks now 9 weeks old.

27/08/14: Young male, 16 weeks old.

24/09/14: Two jarred males now 20 weeks old.

10/11/14: Two jarred males now 26 weeks old.

19/01/14: Two pictures of a female of this spawn now 37 weeks old. This female defenitely is not showquality, but shows a lot of features I really like to see in my breeders.

04/02/15: Darkbody red HMPK male now 39 weeks old:

29/03/15: One male from this spawn was send to the European IBC convention in Friedrichshafen and became 2nd Show Plakat Male (Solid color - Non Iridescent)!
