The Sire is a non-metallic melano black HM PK with a nice broad dorsal. The anal is still a bit too pointy for my taste. The Dame is a non-metallic royal blue (blond) HM PK with a very good bodyshape and nice broad dorsal and nicely parallel anal finnage. The number of rays in her caudal nicely complements that of the male. The aim of this cross is to get offpsring with a more symmetrical look. 
The offspring (F1) will be HM PK with a good chance of DT PKs popping up. The color of the fry will be either heterozygous metallic royal blue or steel blue (mask) with a chance of blacks (melano and/or black lace) popping up. Considering the background of both fish, there is a chance some fish will be marbles.

08/10/09: The pair spawned, looks like a nice amount of eggs.
09/10/09: The fry hatched.
12/10/09: Fry in the free-swimming stage. The Sire was removed.
01/10/09: The fry is now 4 weeks old and feeding well on BBS and small pieces of tubifex.

28/11/09: The fry of this spawn are now 7 weeks old and are developing nicely. Some fish show pretty broad dorsals. There are several melanos in this spawn.

05/12/09: Update of the fry of this spawn now 8,5 week old. Here an impression of the large number of melano blacks which popped up in this spawn. Some fish started to marble.

28/12/09: The fry is now 11 weeks old. So far I spotted one very promising male.
