The Sire is darkbody yellow HMPK with a nicely shaped body and balanced finnage. The caudal has a pretty good D-shape although the outer rays of the upper part could be slightly longer. The front of the dorsal is nicely directed forward and the anal fin and ventrals have a good shape and length. The dame is nemo/galaxy koi HMPK nice long bodyshape, smooth topline and balanced finnage. She has a very nice broad based dorsal.  
With this cross I hope to fix the strong bodies, the smooth topline and work towards a nemo/galaxy line with a better form & finnage. The offspring (F1) most likely will start of as dark- and lightbodied blue/red with a good chance of marbling. Hopefully some already will develop some koi patterns along the way.

07/03/20: The pair is spawning!

08/03/20: The fry hatched.
10/03/20: Removed the Sire, the fry have entered the free-swimming stage. 
07/09/20: 9 weeks old, moved the fry to a bigger grow-out and divided the spawns over four tanks.

13/09/20: Surprise, surprise, there are both dark- and lightbodied fry with a red or a yellow base color!! Interstingly, the first fry already have started to marble.

07/11/20: Two of the first males I have jarred some weeks ago! The left fish has first lost all colors and now is coloring up again with the characteristic koi spots! The yellow on the right for now has been stable in color.

Two more recently jarred brothers of which the right fish now is starting to show his first spots after he entered the cellophane stage. Curious how they will develop further!

14/12/20: At 23 weeks of age the fry shows a wide range of different colors and they are still in full development!

14/03/21: Potential breeders at 35 weeks of age!

08/07/21: Two females at 1 year of age!
