The Sire is a darkbody red HMPK with a strong body, a D-shaped caudal fin and nice voluminous ventral fins. The dorsal ideally could have a bit more volume and the anal is slightly too long. The Dame is a cambodian-based intense red HMPK with minimal traces of iridescence, a nice bodyshape and balanced finnage.
With this cross I hope to fix the intense color with minimal iridescence as well as the strong bodies, smooth topline and balanced finnage.
The offspring (F1) will be HMPK. The offspring (F2) will be lightbody (cambodian-based) red.

The Dame is also mother of: BT030518 & BT210518A.

06/11/17: The pair spawned.
07/11/17: The fry hatched. The sire is taking excellent care!
09/11/17: The fry entered the free-swimming stage. Removed the male.
11/11/17: The fry is feeding well on vinegar eels and BBS.
17/12/17: There are about 40 fry feeding developing nicely on BBS and some cut tubifex.
01/01/18: 10 weeks old. Split the spawn over two grow-outs based on size to promote development. Below an impression of the smaller fry.

21/01/18: 11 weeks old! Both dark- and lightbodied red are coloring up nicely in both tanks.

24/08/18: Proud of the single red HMPK male I kept from this spawn! At 42 weeks of age he became 1st placed at the Holland Betta Show in the M2 Asymmetrical HMPK - Unicolor Red class.
