The Sire is a strong-bodied metallic blue HM PK with a nice D-shaped caudal and a matching anal fin. The base of the dorsal (9-ray) ideally could be a bit broader. The Dame is metallic blue HM PK with a strong body and a nice thick peduncle. Her caudal has a good shape and spread, the anal is nicely parallel and the dorsal has a good broad base (12-ray). Based on their phenotype I am not sure whether these fish are metallic royal blue or (metallic) turquoise based.
With this cross I hope to fix the strong bodies, broad dorsals and quality finnage in my iridescent HM PK line. The offspring (F2) will be metallic blue HM PKs which a chance of melano blacks popping up.

06/08/11: The pair spawned!
07/08/11: The fry hatched.
09/08/11: The fry entered the free-swimming stage. Removed the male.
10/08/11: The fry is feeding well on BBS.
16/08/11: The fry is now 10 days old and growing well on BBS.

14/09/11: The fry is now 5,5 weeks old and developing nicely.

09/10/11: The fry is now 9 weeks and developing nicely in a bigger grow-out. Looks like there are some very nice iridescent colors, 2 blacks, 2 marbles and some fish show a nice broad dorsal base already.

19/10/11: The fry is now 10.5 weeks old.

03/12/11: The fry is now 17 weeks old.
