The Sire is a steel blue based melano HMPK. His caudal has a pretty good D-shape but overall the form still needs a lot of work (especially the anal and dorsal finnage). She has a nice D-shaped caudal, parallel anal fin and an impressive broad-based dorsal (front rays could be longer).  
With this cross I hope to fix the strong bodies, smooth topline and balanced finnage. The offspring (F1) likely will be darkbody steel blue HMPK carying melano black with a chance of black lace and marble to pop up.

05/12/16: The pair spawned.
06/12/16: The fry hatched, seems like a very small spawn.
07/12/16: The fry entered the free-swimming stage. Removed the male. Seems to be quite a big spawn!
11/12/16: The fry is feeding well on vinegar eels and BBS.

20/04/17: Steel blue HMPK female. Not a show fish, but a valuable fish for me at potential breeder female. Love her strong body, the parallel anal, the broad dorsal and the fact that she is a melano carrier.
