The Sire is cambodian-based extended red HMPK with a strong body, strong peduncle and good mouth-to-dorsal topline. His caudal fin is nicely D-shaped with sharp corners but ideally could be a bit bigger in size (slightly longer ray-lenght). His parallel is nicely parallel to the body and a broad-based dorsal of which the first rays ideally should be longer. His color is really intense red with a bit too much iridescence. The Dame is a cambodian-based extended red HMPK which became 4nd placed in the HMPK female - Unicolor (non-iridescent) class at the Holland Betta Show 2011 (click here). She is a full sister of the Sire of BT290811. Her color is really intense red with hardly any signs of iridescence.
With this cross I hope to combine the strong bodies & quality finnage as well as the intense red color in the offspring.
The offspring (F1) will be cambodian based red HM PKs with a chance of HMDTPKs popping up.

03/01/12: The pair spawned!
04/01/12: The fry hatched.
06/01/12: Fry in the free-swimming stage.
08/01/12: Removed the father, fry feeding well on BBS.
18/01/12: The fry is now 2 weeks old. There are about 30-40 fry and I have spotted several DTs among the fry.
03/02/12: Made two pictures of a singletail and doubletail now 4 weeks old.
