The Sire is a steel blue based melano HMPK. His caudal has a pretty good D-shape but overall the form still needs a lot of work (especially the anal and dorsal finnage). The Dame a strongbodied steel blue HMPK female with a smooth topline and balanced finnage. The caudal is nicely D-shaped, the dorsal is nicely directed forward (front rays bit short) and the anal is nicely parallel to the body. The pair is partly related as the grandmother of the Dame is also the grandmother of the mother of the Sire.  
With this cross I hope to improve the finnage. The offspring (F1) likely will be darkbody steel blue HMPK carying melano black with a chance of black lace and marble to pop up.

02/01/17: The pair spawned.
03/01/17: The fry hatched.
05/01/17: The fry entered the free-swimming stage. Removed the male. Seems to be quite a big spawn!
06/01/17: The fry is feeding well on vinegar eels and BBS.
03/02/17: 4 weeks old!

04/02/17: 10 weeks old. The fry is steel blue and black lace. Some fish show a bit of red wash in their finnage.

15/08/17: 32 weeks old! Below two males which are not showfish but very valuable buildling blocks for my melano project.

09/10/17: Potential breeding pair!

28/10/17: Two siblings I really like, now 43 weeks old!
