The Sire is lightbody yellow HMPK with a nice bodyshape (although body is slightly short). The caudal has a nice D-shape with a smooth appearance. The anal has a good trapazoid shape, the dorsal has a good volume with the front rays nicely directed forward. The ventrals have a good length and volume. The Dame is a gold HMPK with a nice torpedo-shaped body and smooth balanced finnage. 
This cross is a trial cross to learn more on the interaction between yellow and gold. With this cross I hope to fix the strong bodies, smooth topline and balanced finnage. The offspring (F1) will be HMPK. Colorwise this cross will be a heterozygous metallic pastel but hope to see some of the yellow popping-up.

01/10/16: The pair spawned.
02/10/16: The fry hatched. The Sire is taking excellent care!

04/10/16: The fry entered the free-swimming stage. Removed the male.
06/10/16: The fry is feeding well on vinegar eels and BBS.
05/11/16: The fry is now 5 weeks old and developing nicely! They all show a pastel-like color, sofar without any signs of yellow.

16/12/16: The fry are now 11 weeks old and developing nicely. All fry are light-bodied and show a metallic/pastel shine with a yellowish tint. The fry share the grow-out with the BT310916 spawn.

09/01/17: Young male now 14 weeks old.

17/02/17: Two brothers now 19 weeks old.

06/04/17: 21 weeks old.
